Wednesday, February 1/”Wee hours” of Thursday, February 2, 2023 Entry #1

I left Tampa on a Springsteen high. And, even though the next concert was two days later in Atlanta, many hours to the north, I headed…south again, back to Miami Beach. It was dramatically counter-intuitive, but it was my sabbatical, and I wanted another day on the water. I also love the feeling of driving as day turns into night and vice-versa. It is like driving through time itself. At around 4 am, it dawned on me there was (of course), a perfect Bruce Springsteen song for this auspicious moment in time. I played “Drive All Night” again and again until the sun came up. An hour or so after that, I was back at good old Waterside, singing myself to sleep.
