It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City
Monday, April 3, 2023 Entry #68
Seeing Springsteen at Madison Square Garden and touring Springsteen’s Asbury Park and Jersey Shore environs, that was supposed to be the New York “1-2 punch” of my ongoing Springsteen Odyssey. But, he had a concert tonight in Brooklyn, and my flight home wasn’t until Tuesday, so I decided to head over to the Barclays Center and see about scoring a last-minute ticket.
I didn’t have much luck at the box office, but while I was still hanging around the arena, I took a look at the ticket resale apps. On Seat Geek (there’s even a “SeatGeek Plaza you can see from the picture is right inside the venue in Brooklyn so what could be wrong?), I saw a seat in the upper levels, but with good sight lines and an affordable price tag. I nabbed it, and pinched myself to make sure this was reality, and I was heading to yet another show on this powerful tour.
My ticket was not GA this time, so I didn’t need to get back early for the line-up. Instead, I ventured over to Manhattan to do more scouting for my return to New York City with my synagogue’s Confirmation class in a couple of weeks. The time passed quickly and the concert is about to begin. I guess I’m just a prisoner of rock n’ roll!
